Sometimes I get really hard Silena feels. Like her dad… In The Last Olympian she mentions that he owns chocolate and when Charlie died she eats them and even though she says they taste like cardboard she still gets some comfort from the dad.
And her dad. He probably thinks his daughter is safe. That’s what everybody thinks. Daughters of Aphrodite are safe, they are not in such a big risk and at the end of summer she’ll come safe and she’ll help him make chocolate. Because they always sell and taste better when she helps out because she’s just got that magic touch that makes his day better. Ever since aphrodite left, the only person he’s ever really cared about is his daughter.
But that summer she doesn’t come home. And one day a tall boy with green eyes comes to his door and tells him. “She died a hero. She gave her life in order to save all of us. She’s the reason we won the war.”
He was so proud of her. But he cries for days on end. His little baby girl is gone. The girl he raised by himself is gone. He just can’t think of anything else.
